Jason Emery has over 18 years of experience in the fire service. He has been a career firefighter with the City of Waterbury (CT) for the past fourteen years and has been assigned to the City’s Heavy Rescue/Haz-Mat Company for twelve years. Jason also serves as a volunteer EMT for his hometown ambulance service.
Jason has been a certified fire service instructor since 1997 and is a member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI). He is an instructor for the Burrville Regional Fire Training School and is an FDIC lecturer.
Jason is the owner and founder of Emergency Training Solutions, LLC (ETS). Since 2000, ETS has written and produced cutting edge PowerPoint-based training programs. The firm also provides a variety of onsite training services, and is currently developing the companion forcible entry training program for the Friction Force training prop.
Jason has lectured extensively on the subject of Hybrid Vehicles and Vehicle Occupant Protection Systems. He will be presenting the Hybrid Vehicle program at FDIC 2008. He has published articles on Hybrid Vehicles in Fire Chief Magazine and Fire Engineering’s e-newsletter.
He is a graduate of the University of New Haven with a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science and holds numerous fire service certifications.

Chris Pepler, Onsite Training Director
Chris Pepler has over 18 years of experience in the fire service. He has been a career firefighter with the City of Torrington (CT) for the past eight years.
Chris has been a certified fire service instructor since 1997 and is a member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI). He is an instructor for the Connecticut Fire Academy and the Wolcott State Fire Training School.
Chris is the Director of Training for Emergency Training Solutions, LLC (ETS). As such, he is responsible for the coordination of all on site training services to customers throughout the U.S. He Co-authored the ETS Vehicle Extrication Program
He has lectured extensively on the subject of Vehicle Occupant Protection Systems and Vehicle Extrication.

Kevin Munson, Program Development Director
Kevin Munson Jr., has over fifteen years of experience in the fire service. He has been a career firefighter with the City of West Hartford (CT) for the past ten years. Kevin also serves on the Capitol Region Hazardous Materials Response Team as a hazmat technician.
Kevin is the Program Development Director for Emergency Training Solutions, LLC (ETS). He coordinates the development of new training programs and manages all program updates.
As a state certified fire instructor, Kevin is an Adjunct Instructor with the Connecticut Fire Academy where he develops and delivers all facets of firefighter training including Industrial Confined Space, Recruit Firefighter, Technical Rescue, Transportation Rescue, Terrorism, Hazardous Materials, Pump Operator and Aerial Operator. Kevin also teaches courses at the Wolcott State Fire Training School in Wolcott, CT.
Kevin has completed numerous training programs at the Connecticut Fire Academy, Louisiana State University Firemen Training Division, Department of Homeland Security, University of Nevada Las Vegas and the New Mexico Technical University. He is currently enrolled in the Fire Service Administration Program at the Southern University of New York.

Dave Rich, Training Coordinator
Dave Rich has over 13 years of fire experience of working on heavy rescue and truck companies. He was a career firefighter/paramedic in Hingham (MA) for two years and now works as a firefighter/paramedic with Manchester, (CT) Fire/Rescue/EMS.
Dave is a Nationally Registered Paramedic with ten years of EMS experience is Torrington (CT), Boston, Hingham (MA) and now Manchester (CT). He has nearly completed his Associates degree in Fire Technology and Administration and would like to return to complete his bachelors degree in this field.
Dave holds numerous certificates from fire and rescue courses and is also certified in ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS for EMS.

Addtional and Adjuct Staff Members
Frank Ricci
Frank Ricci serves as the Director of Fire Services for ConnectiCOSH. He is an adjunct instructor for the New Haven Fire Department, Middlesex County Fire School and a FDIC Hot Instructor and lecturer.
Frank has been a subject matter consultant for Yale, FDNY, Essex PB&R, Williams Direct Dryers, Friction Force, and the DuPont Corporation. He is one of the contributing authors of a book entitled Carbon Monoxide Poisoning CRC Press 2008 and is a regular contributor to Fire Engineering.
Frank has worked on a heavy rescue unit covering Bethesda and Chevy Chase MD and was a “student live in” at station 31 in Rockville MD. He was one of the co-authors of CT whistle blower law. He is in his 11th year with the New Haven (CT) Fire Department and most recently developed the Fire Engineering film “Smoke Showing.”

Jim Duffy
Jim Duffy has been a firefighter for over 30 years, and a career firefighter for over 16. He has served as Shift Commander in the Wallingford Fire Department for the last seven. Jim started, and is an ex-captain with the Mineola FD on Long Island NY.
He is nationally certified Fire Instructor. Jim is an Adjunct instructor Middlesex regional Fire School and the developer of the FF safety Program PREVENTION NOT INTERVENTION Jim is a member of Ricci Associates and is on the peer review board for firefightersafety.net He was the Division Chief in charge of the Yale School of Medicine Survivability study on the Last Chance SCBA Back Up Filter.
Jim has worked on several DVD projects for Fire Engineering and is currently working on a DVD for Firefighter Survival Techniques Prevention to Intervention. Duffy is a coauthor of an article on acquired structure burns currently on Fire Engineering’s web page and a coauthor of an article on out-of-air emergencies in Fenton Fire Magazine.
Ed Evers
Ed Evers has 18 years of fire service experience. He has been a career firefighter for the Hamden (CT) Fire Department for 10 years and currently serves as a Captain on Truck 1. He also serves as the Deputy Chief of the Litchfield (CT) Fire Department.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Science Technology from the University of New Haven and an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Waterbury (CT) State Technical College.
Ed is certified as a Fire Instructor, Fire Officer, Hazardous Materials Technician, Pump Operator, Aerial Operator, EMT and has training and experience in Rope, Trench, Confined Space and Vehicle Rescue.
